International Teaching Positions in China

We are looking for flexible, adventurous and vibrant qualified high school teachers.

You will be working in one of the most prestigious public high schools in City of Shenyang, Liaoning Province, China. We currently have nine Canadian teachers and one principal that are now into their sixth year of employment. We had the first cohort of graduating students in June, 2010, who were able to successfully gain acceptances into leading Canadian universities and colleges.

We are in partnership with Nova Scotia Department of Education offering their 3 year Public High School Diploma Program (Grade 10-12) in China

Shenyang is located in northeastern China, a one hour flight from Beijing. Shenyang is a beautiful, fascinating and friendly city. It is also a major engine in China’s flourishing economy, and hosts many international enterprises from Canada, USA, France, Germany, South Korea, the UK and Hong Kong. Teaching in an innovative program at a prestigious public high school in Shenyang could be a wonderful way to experience the old culture and modern city life in China.

Contract Dates:

Ten months contract with an option to renew starting September of each year. There is approximately a one and a half month paid holidays within the contract period.

Teaching Load: The teacher will have three classes in the first semester and three classes in the second semester with a total teaching hours of 20-25 hours per week.

Remuneration: A competitive salary package commensurate with years of experience, teachable and other qualifications.

Benefits: Medical insurance and annual return airfare is included with the package.

Additional benefits include FREE three meals a day is provided in the school cafeteria except on weekends and FREE housing accommodation in a one bedroom fully-furnished apartment with a fully equipped kitchen, living room, private bathroom, satellite TV and internet connection.

This apartment building is 10 minutes walking distance from the school and is specially catered to our foreign staff.

Candidate Profile/Qualifications Required:

Requires teaching certification from country of origin and an application to acquire a Nova Scotia teaching certificate from Canada. New graduates and retirees are welcome to apply.
